This is what college does to you

For those of you who don't know me very well, i have PERFECTED the art of procrastination. So, this is me.... procrastinating my paper due tomorrow. oh, and i found the glasses in my drawer and i thought i'd show off my whiteness with the black sunglasses as contrast. :]

Do you think one person can really make a difference on those around them? That a death can actually cause happiness? That not everyone will be missed? That sometimes death may make the rest of life better? 

Long time Coming

So i haven't been on here for a while...some catch up writing would be good, right? Lots has happened in the last couple of months. Good times, bad times, scary times, sad times, etc. I don't even know what to write on here there is so much going through my head. I guess i'll just talk about my graduation.

Yes, Shelby Diann Owens is NO LONGER in high school, hallelujah! How long have i been waiting to say that and have it actually be true? I graduated on thrusday the 18th and let's just say it was a long time comin'. Jeggee came into town with the whole fam and surprised me and my family (except rae/tob). It was actually funny because i was driving home from Balboa with my friends and one of them yelled "isn't that your sister shelby?!" and i was like screaming and trying to stay in my lane. haha Anyways, I'm so glad high school is done and im ready for summer and some new/different adventures.

Have you guys seen these crazy new ideas out there? Today i was just minding my own business, going about my day and about to log in to my email, when BAM! Yahoo says, "Twleve Amazing Shipping Container Houses". And i thought to myself, whaaaa? (haha) What is this business all about, yo? (again, haha) this is apparently what my mind sounds like, fyi.

Sooo i got a Disneyland pass now and i've pretty much gone atleast once a week so far....haha. So if you guys have a pass let me know and we can go Dland it uppp!? :)

"Spanish Fark"

HOOLLAAAA! from "spanish fark", which is apparently how the utahns say Spanish Fork. haha. Anyways, im in the lovely state of utah at my sister's crazy house! I drove all the way from Mesquite to Spanish and im pretty sure i need a new foot and butt from sitting in one position way too long...haha. But i did get to rock out to my ipod while i drove so that was definately a plus. :)

So i found out this week that i didn't get accepted into BYU Utah. Which i was pretty bummed but hey, what can i do? Life goes on right...or atleast it should.

So My sister and brother in-law are OFFICIALLY crazy! :)

but i love them! <3 Rae and Tob made me the COOLEST birthday cake ever!

Murder

Today Janelle and I sinned. We committed a terrible crime that can never be forgiven....we killed someone. There are blood drips on Rapache's driveway and here is the evidence on my hands...
JUST KIDDING!! Who do you think i am? Geez! :) Well i guess the story is a little bit exaggerated. Ja Ja and I went on an adventure and some how found our way at Rapaches trying to paint the windows on her car. We are now experts at doing this so i don't know why we had SO much trouble today...but we couldn't get the darn "window chalk" to work! I finally got impatient and squeezed the bottle too hard and it went ALL over my hands! Thus the picture above. Ja Ja and me were laughing so hard because Mr. Panchal walked outside to put something in the trash can while we were doing this and we had to wipe off our hands some where so we used one of her neighbors grass. :/ Hopefully they aren't too upset that a "murder" has been committed near their yard when they find the red paint all over it! :)

EWWWW

Finals are just plain gross. I mean...i have a grade already from everything i've done ALL semester...why do we need to take a HUGE test that can either make my grade stay the same, or completely RUIN it!? Why? Why? Why? School is just so stupid. And finals really have no point to them. I already have an A, why do i need to show that i learned something the whole semester if i have already shown it by all of my test scores? Like what the heck? grrrrr! I hate school! :(

So, my sister, Jessica, and her family came down to CA this weekend for my cousin's wedding and we had so much fun while they were here. (But we were bummed scott and Ashley couldn't make it) Anyways, the only downside to them coming was that SOMEONE got me sick :( haha and everytime we have family in town, everyone gets sick. Rae has strep (or something like it), Tanner, Miles, and Brooklyn had the flu, Mom and me got colds, and i think thats it. haha But overall it was fun and hectic like always and we look forward to May for it to happen all over again! :) Hmm...maybe in April for our other cousin's wedding too?
Oh and there may be some pictures/video of our family "talent" show coming soon :) and if not on my blog then maybe on one of my siblings....its quite hilarious so if your interested, then keep checkin' for it! :)

Tragedy in the Family

This past Sunday was a pretty normal Sunday for our family. We always have church (now 1-4 pm) and then all my siblings who live nearby come over for Sunday dinner and festivities. Well, this last Sunday, January 11, 2009, we had Ward Conference from 2-5 for church. Before we left for church someone put my doggy, Sadie, out onto her side yard area....we aren't going to point any fingers *cough* MOM! *cough* buuutttt.....when i got home and got into my pj's after church, i went to get Sadie to feed her and she was no where to be found. Let's just say i freaked out a little. I was very distraught....and for those of you who have pets you love (and have seen Marley & Me-which made you love them even more) you know this very sickening feeling when they are lost. So apparently either the side gate hadn't been latched all the way or wasn't shut at all? who knows? but point being is Sadie was gone. The sun was almost completely down by this point and i ran out of my house, tears very much flowing at this point, frantically on the search. (My dad later yelled at me because i left without shoes on, no flashlight, and no cell phone.) Luckily my neighbor had seen a Lost Dog sign and knew it was a black lab, so after searching for the lady who found her, finding a working phone number to contact her, and getting her address, my dad drove me to her house and we picked up my "Lil poopy". I never felt more joy to see that darn block head of my dog than at that exact moment. Anyways, that is the drama of my Sunday....here are some pictures of my amazing doggy! Sadie is almost 7 years old and i have had her since she was 8 weeks old. She has little gray hairs on her chin now (i know-so sad!) but she still acts like a puppy!

needless to say....she got a new dogtag the very next day! :)

Crossing my fingers

SoOoOoOo pretty much school starts again tomorrow. And although there were definately some low points to my two weeks of break...i dont want to go back to school! I hate school with a passion. And if you are young, nieve, and love school, please disregard this message and keep on loving it! Because you'll need that good optimisim to get through the rest of these horrible years of high school. I dont think i should go back. This is the conclusion i have come up with after long contemplation. And i agree with Sister Mcdaniel, i think i should go live in a van down by the river and never go back to school. :)
